Humidity and Your Piano

Colorado winters are very dry and can have devastating effects on your beloved piano. Humidity control is very important. To take proper care of your instruments, use a home humidifier in the winter. Humidify the home starting from when you turn your heat on in the fall to turning it off in the spring.

To ensure that your piano will stay intact and in tune, follow these steps:
• Get Humidifier and Hydrometer Today! (links below)
• Keep your home between 30-40% in the dry months (Generally Late Fall- Early Spring)
• Mountain homes - Keep home around 30% in Winter
• Below 25% is dangerous for your piano, the wood in your home, and health!
• Alternately you can have a humidifier installed in your furnace
